Objectives
Real Asset Alternative Investment
An income objective—not a guarantee or investor-level IRR.
Only for qualifying property and eligible investors; recapture and limits may apply.
Separately managed accounts or a commingled fund, subject to final terms.
Illustrative objectives only. Aircraft investments are illiquid and involve operating risk and possible loss of capital. Tax treatment depends on individual circumstances. Source: VAAM discussion draft; IRS Notice 2026-11.
Rationale
Individual and corporate travelers value time, privacy and schedule control.
Delays and cancellations reinforce the value of reliable point-to-point alternatives.
Asset condition, maintenance obligations and purchase price create the underwriting opportunity.
Charter cash flow, sale proceeds and eligible depreciation can shape investor results.
Investment philosophy
Select pre-owned aircraft using valuation, technical inspection and a fully costed operating model.
Place aircraft with specialist FAA Part 135 operators for charter use.
Monitor utilization, reserves and cash flow; reassess hold, replacement or sale decisions.
Independent specialists may support valuation and technical diligence. Provider selection and scope remain subject to engagement.
Investment process
Compare the proposed purchase price with an independent aircraft valuation and realistic resale assumptions.
Review records, engine status, inspection findings and upcoming maintenance before commitment.
Include repositioning, downtime, major maintenance and sale costs in the acquisition decision.
Independent specialists may support valuation and technical diligence. Provider selection and scope remain subject to engagement.
Investment process
Monthly review of flight activity, charter receipts, expenses and aircraft availability.
Dedicated reserves and forward maintenance schedules to assess future cash requirements.
Periodic independent valuations and operator reviews to inform deployment and exit decisions.
Reporting frequency, reserve policy and approval rights will follow the final investment and operating agreements.
Potential tax benefits
Federal law restored permanent 100% first-year depreciation for eligible property acquired after January 19, 2025.
Aircraft eligibility and investor benefit depend on acquisition and service dates, business use, ownership structure and applicable deduction limits.
Depreciation is a tax deduction, not investment income. Recapture may apply on sale. State treatment can differ. Investors should obtain independent tax advice. Source: IRS Notice 2026-11.
